Migration Information Center

The key programme of International Organisation for Migration is the Migration Information Centre (based in 2006), which offers immigrants a variety of services relating to legislation, social services, access to counselling, further education, language courses and courses on cultural orientation, etc. Migration Information Centres also offer financial help for up-skilling and re-qualification courses for migrants, which will improve their chances of finding meaningful employment.

Methodology used in the Best Practice

The services are offered to clients free of charge. There is a possibility to contact MIC by email, phone or personally.

MIC also organizes information days for migrants which offer One Stop Shops, where they offer free advice from different fields.

In addition, the MIC website acts as a unique source of information and advice from various areas of life and residence for migrants in Slovakia.
